Expat Website Review: ThinkSpain.com

For people thinking of moving to Spain, ThinkSpain is a very useful website containing the latest news, jobs and properties all in English.

Finding sites which offer the range of news and information which is provided by Think Spain is rare, especially when trying to find information about specific locations in English.

What we love most about Think Spain is that it's so regularly updated, especially when compared to similar websites in Spain and other countries. Each of the key sections are updated on a daily basis, including news, directory listings, jobs and properties.

All of this is supported by regularly updated social media activity including Twitter and Facebook.

Key features

While the design of thinkspain.com might be a little dated, the content never disappoints. The news is updated regularly and covers the whole range of news you would need as an expat in Spain. Being able to browse by region and also subject is a nice touch and keeps navigation simple, allowing you to keep up to date with key stories from around the country.

If you are looking for a business, the site also contains a comprehensive business listing. We think a nice addition would be to add a language filter so that if you are not a fluent Spanish speaker, you can select businesses which also speak English.

The site includes a property section which contains regularly updated properties available to purchase, rent and also holiday lettings. There are also useful articles which are helpful in understanding the Spanish property market.

The job section is all encompassing and not only contains job listings, including a useful job search feature. Like the property section, the search is supported by useful articles which provide insight into working in Spain. It also contains useful tax information, essential reading for anybody considering relocating.

We wouldn’t necessarily recommend the online classifieds on the site, especially when there are much larger classified sites out there.

Overall

If you living in Spain or thinking about moving there, if you can look past the design, this is a well-established and incredibly useful resource for expats.

Unlike many sites, it’s regularly updated and easy to use, with all the information you might need to make more of your life in Spain, while also keeping up with current affairs.
