People across the world will be observing two minutes silence today as nations remember Armistice Day.

In the UK, schools, businesses and organisations will pause to remember those who have fallen in conflict throughout the years.

With 2014 marking the centenary of the start of the First World War, today’s Armistice Day is likely to be observed with even more solemnity than usual as we pause to pay our respects.
